Raymond van het Groenewoud versus Mario Botta

Wednesday, November 26th, 2008

Mario Botta did visit Belgium for a lecture and a meeting with “12 (Belgian) apostles of the good taste”… One of the 12 was Raymond van het Groenewoud, prince of the Flemish song.

Mister Raymonds performance was pure beauty, was 100% Vlaemsch()… Some things never change… And I’m still enjoying…

Wednesday, November 19th, 2008

On the 24th of November, Casimir the founder of Vlaemsch() will join a lecture/discussion with Mario Botta in Leuven Belgium together with a lot of other “famous” belgian architects and artists like Paul Robberecht, Hilde Deam, Piet Stockmans and others.

For details, see the invitation below, sorry it is in Dutch only, but the lecture will be translated I guess.  I can’t imagine Mario Botta to speak Dutch…

Forms with a Smile

Wednesday, July 2nd, 2008

It could have been a baseline for many Vlaemsch()-products, but it isn’t…
“Design Today, Forms with a Smile” is a book by Moniek Bucquoye and Dieter Van Den Storm about today’s design surrealism.  It also features a few Vlaemsch()-products, f.i. the Bootbag.

If you’re interested, this is the way to go: Stichting Kunstboek (publisher)
or “Design Today, Forms with a Smile”, published by Stichting kunstboek
ISBN 978-90-5856-235-7, for only € 29,90

Tell us what you do with your Vlaemsch-products!

Wednesday, May 21st, 2008

We would like to know what happens with our products. How do you use or mis-use it, does it pimp your living-room or is it banned to the toilet-room. Please send us your photos and stories and we’ll post them on our Flickr-pages for the world to see.

Here are a few photos to whet your appetite:

Take a look at this hilarious video from the dutch designer Marijn van der Poll, who’s forging himself a chair.
But I doubt  he’ll be producing much more chairs like this.

Vlaemsch() YouTube - channel launched today

Wednesday, May 14th, 2008

Together with the launch of our brand new blog, we started a YouTube-channel to post videos related to our brand. No, no, we’re not talking about dull commercial videos showing off our products but things happening with or products, designers, Vlaemsch-friends.

For the moment we’ve only uploaded an old video from the Belgian Television. When our King was recovering from a fall, he got a visit from the Prime Minister of the Walon-area (the french part of Belgium) Elio di Rupo. And he gave the King a Vlaemsch()-deer as a present. Take a look:

But one remark here about the explanation of Mr. Di Rupo in the video: he says the Deer is designed by Elric Petit, which isn’t exactly true to be honest. Elric is part of the design studio Big-Game, but the inital designer of the deer is Augustin Scott de Martinville (what a name!)
